Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-19

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Vylan (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The service

Vylan is a document-collection tool for accounting and bookkeeping firms. Firms create checklists of documents to request; their clients upload those documents through a private-link portal. Vylan stores the documents, checks them with AI, and helps the firm collect signatures, invoice, and get paid.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done under your account. Turn on two-factor login, and tell us at the address below if you think someone else has access.

4. Plans, billing, and demo

New firms start in demo mode with no payment method required. Paid plans are billed monthly in Canadian dollars. Our pricing is currently set through a conversation with each firm rather than a fixed public price, and we will agree on it with you before any charge. On a paid plan you can cancel at any time from your settings, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Your data

You own the documents and information you and your clients put into Vylan. You give us permission to host, process, and display that data only to run the Service for you. We never sell it, and we never use your clients' documents for anything other than providing the Service.

6. Acceptable use

Do not upload illegal content, try to break or probe our security, or use the Service to impersonate someone. We may suspend or close an account that does.

7. Our intellectual property

Vylan — its design, code, and content, other than your own data — belongs to us. You may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer it without our written permission.

8. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Vylan at any time, and we can end this agreement if these terms are broken. Either way, you can export your data for 30 days after the account closes; after that, we delete it.

9. Disclaimers and liability

We work hard to keep Vylan running and accurate, but the Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Vylan is a tool that helps you collect and manage documents; it does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice, and you remain responsible for your professional work. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Quebec.
