What your client sees

What your client sees

The portal is one page: what you still need, what to sign, what to pay, the conversation, and the finished work at the end. No account, no password, no menu to learn.

Everything your client does happens on one page. It opens with their name and a line saying what you need — Here's what {firm} needs from you. — and then the list.

The parts of it

  • Where things stand — the summary at the top: how far along they are.
  • Your documents — the checklist, with Upload on each line.
  • To sign — anything waiting for a signature.
  • Messages — the thread with you.
  • Your deliverables — the finished work, once there is any.

Each document says where it got to: Approved, In review, or Rejected, please re-upload. They never have to ask whether something arrived.

The two escape hatches

Clients get stuck on things they cannot produce, so there are two honest answers besides uploading. Not applicable marks a line as genuinely not relevant to them — and it is reversible, with Undo "Not applicable".

Can't find it? Write a note instead lets them tell you what happened rather than leaving the line blank forever. A blank line is ambiguous; a note is information.

More than one job at a time

A client with two engagements running gets Switch engagement rather than two links to keep straight.

Seeing it yourself

View portal on the client's page opens the real thing. Worth doing once, because it is the screen your client actually judges you on.

It opens their real link, so anything you do in it is recorded as them — the app says so on the button. Look; do not tidy up while you are in there.
